Since April 2025, the UK ETA has applied to almost every visa-exempt nationality — including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the USA, Canada, Australia, and all of Europe. If your passport is on the list below, you'll need an ETA before you travel.
It covers most reasons for visiting the UK: tourism, business trips, short-term study, and passing through on the way to another country.
Not required to obtain the ETA.
Individuals with a UK visa or permission to live, work, or study in the UK are exempt.
Non-Irish citizens legally resident in Ireland travelling from within the Common Travel Area do not require an ETA.
